Mathon-Aste Farms

As you can see from the very first photo, we encourage milkweed and other pollen producers to co-habitate with our cool season (white and red clover, orchard grass and fescue) and warm season (indian grass, switch grass and little/big blue stem) grasses to encourage our pollinators (bees, wasps, moths, etc.) to do their duties.  Out of our 86 tillable acres, we produce hay from 76, leaving ten to produce traditional crops such as corn, beans and wheat and resultant straw.
